Why doesn’t my restaurant show up on google maps?

Business owner frustrated because business listing is not appearing on google

There could be several reasons why your business isn’t showing up on Google Maps. The most common reason is because you haven’t created your Google My Business Profile. If you haven’t created your profile you can read our DIY article here.

If you already added your business my profile account but are still not seeing your listings, you can checkout these other articles.

Your listing is unverified

If you’ve created a listing for your business on Google My Business but haven’t yet verified it, it may not appear on Google Maps. Verification typically involves Google sending a postcard with a verification code to your business address. Be sure to only use real addresses for your business listing to avoid being suspended by google.

You have incomplete information

Ensure that all the information provided for your business listing is accurate and complete. This includes your business name, address, phone number, website, and category. Any missing data can result in your listing being unverified.

Your listing violates Google’s Guidelines

If your business listing violates Google’s guidelines in any way, such as using a false business name or creating multiple listings for the same business, it may not show up on Google Maps.

Your listing is too new

If you’ve recently created your business listing or made changes to it, it may take some time for Google to process and display those changes on Google Maps. This process can sometimes take a few days or even weeks.

Your location isn’t correct

Google Maps may prioritize businesses that are closer to the user’s location or that have more reviews and activity. If your business is located in a less populated area or doesn’t have much online activity, it may not appear prominently on Google Maps. You will even see different results based on your physical location when you ran the search!

Google messed up!

Occasionally, technical issues on Google’s end may prevent your business from appearing on Google Maps. In such cases, it’s best to reach out to Google My Business support for assistance.

Conclusion

To improve your chances of appearing on Google Maps, ensure that your business listing is complete, accurate, and verified.
